Patagonia has made significant progress in aligning its business model with UN Sustainable Development Goals, focusing on SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), SDG 13 (Climate Action), and SDG 15 (Life on Land). The company's commitment to recycling and sustainability has led to a reduction in CO2 emissions and waste, with 94% of its products using recycled materials (Gerasimos, 2023) (Perkins, 2002). Patagonia's "Worn Wear" program promotes repairing and reusing clothing, reducing the environmental footprint of their production processes. The company's sustainability initiatives have maintained profitability, with their "Worn Wear" program growing by 40% in a single year. Patagonia's social responsibility includes fair trade practices and the well-being of workers, with 45% of its supply chain certified and living wages for all employees. This aligns with the net positive mindset, demonstrating how companies can profit while promoting meaningful environmental and social changes. (Nissa, 2021). When Patagreenia becomes part of Patagonia and more people are both willing and able to be part of the community, then it would also be aligning with SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities) since we would be reaching a new segment of clients who previously did not think they were able to afford quality clothing from Patagonia.
